Light at the end of the tunnel
We are now cautiously restarting team-only practices, training classes, and "Try-It-Out" events
for fully-vaccinated, masked adults.
As the kiddos start getting vaccinated we may be able to reengage with our community partners.

OUR MISSION
To use the joy of dog training in support of behavioral therapy professionals in their effort to nurture empathy and non-violent problem solving skills.
WHO WE ARE
We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 organization serving the Portland Metro area. Our therapy teams are dog/handler pairs who are ably assisted by others who share the vision.
WHAT WE DO
Our S.T.A.R. (See Tag And Reward) Teams teach non-violent relationship and problem-solving skills to at-risk youths through classes in positive dog training.

Thank you helpers!
Thank you to the many people who helped us move the incoming STAR teams one step closer to graduation on Saturday. The proficiency test was definitely a case of “it takes a village” and we’re grateful for your assistance.
Yes, all of our activities are on pause for a bit, but we hope to hit the ground running as soon it’s safe to do so.
We. Need. More. Teams. We were running tight to start with, but over the last year four of our veteran dogs have moved away, aged out or died. We. Need. More. Teams.
If you’re even thinking about whether you and your dog would like to be a Little Dog team, please let us know so we can contact you when the world opens back up

Thanks to a grant from Latham Foundation, we are now able to give each child we work with their own copy of The Child and Dog Interaction Guide!
As these two sample pages show, this 16-page booklet clearly illustrates some of the exact things we want to teach.
Thank you, Latham Foundation and Trailblazing Tails for helping us make this goal a reality!
